Houston Dynamo FC has officially signed Mattheo Dimareli, a talented forward from the Dynamo Academy, to an MLS NEXT Pro contract that will last through June 2027. The 16-year-old Cy-Fair native will transition to an MLS contract as a Homegrown Player starting in July 2027, with a guaranteed deal extending through the 2027-2028 season and options for the subsequent seasons. Dimareli becomes the 21st Dynamo Academy product to earn a Homegrown contract, showcasing the club's commitment to developing local talent. President of Soccer Pat Onstad praised Dimareli's impact at both the club and international levels, emphasizing the importance of providing opportunities for young players. Dimareli joined the Dynamo Academy in 2022 and has made significant contributions, including standout performances in tournaments like the 2023 MLS NEXT Fest and the 2024 Generation Adidas Cup. He has already made a mark with Dynamo 2, scoring seven goals and six assists in 48 matches. His recent achievements include a brace in a match against Tacoma Defiance and contributing to Dynamo 2's strong start to the 2026 season.
